Limerick

Limerick sits at the head of the Shannon estuary, right where the west coast meets the midlands. The branch is on Upper William Street, in the city centre, walking distance from King John's Castle.

From here you are an hour from the Cliffs of Moher, forty-five minutes from the Burren, and ninety minutes from Killarney. The M7 east reaches Dublin in under two and a half hours. Limerick is the junction where most cross-country routes intersect.

The city itself has changed enormously in recent years. The Milk Market, the Hunt Museum, and the Georgian Quarter are worth a morning before you hit the road.

Questions cousins ask about Limerick

contact us if yours isn't here
Where is the Limerick branch?
The branch is at 14 Upper William Street, in the city centre. It is walking distance from King John's Castle and the Milk Market. The branch is easy to find and centrally located.
Is Limerick a good base for the Cliffs of Moher?
Yes. The Cliffs are about an hour north via the N18 and N85. Shannon Airport and Ennis are even closer if the Cliffs are your main goal, but Limerick gives you a city base with more evening options.
What is there to do in Limerick itself?
King John's Castle is the main attraction. The Milk Market on Saturday mornings is a local favourite. The Hunt Museum and the Georgian streets of Newtown Pery are worth exploring. Limerick also has a strong food and pub scene.
Can I drive from Limerick to the Ring of Kerry?
Yes. Take the N21 southwest to Tralee, then the N70 into the Ring. The drive to Killarney, where the Ring begins, is about 1 hour 30 minutes.
Is parking easy in Limerick city centre?
There are several multi-storey car parks within walking distance of the branch. Street parking is metered during the day but free in the evenings and on Sundays. The Hunt Museum car park is also a good option.
