What makes this spot special

your cousin's local knowledge
Wexford

Wexford is Ireland's sunniest corner, with more hours of sunshine than anywhere else on the island. The branch is at the Ardcavan Business Park, on the northern edge of town, close to the N11 Dublin road.

Curracloe Beach, where the Normandy landing scenes in Saving Private Ryan were filmed, is fifteen minutes away. The Hook Peninsula, with one of the oldest working lighthouses in the world, with a tower dating to the 13th century, is thirty minutes south. Rosslare Europort, for ferries to Wales and France, is twenty minutes southeast.

Wexford is the most overlooked county in Ireland. That means quieter beaches, cheaper food, and roads you will have almost entirely to yourself.

Questions cousins ask about Wexford

contact us if yours isn't here
Is Wexford really the sunniest part of Ireland?
Yes. The southeast corner of Ireland, including Wexford, consistently records the most sunshine hours in the country. It also has less rainfall than the west coast. It is the closest Ireland gets to reliable good weather.
What was filmed at Curracloe Beach?
The opening D-Day beach scenes from Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan (1998) were filmed at Curracloe. The beach is 5 km of wide, flat sand backed by dunes. It is beautiful for walking and swimming.
Do I need to leave a deposit when I pick up in Wexford?
No deposit against insurance. A one euro pre-authorisation is placed on your credit card at pickup for tolls, parking, or fines. If you do not have a credit card, a refundable 250 euro deposit is required instead.
What is the Hook Peninsula?
The Hook Peninsula is a scenic headland south of Wexford with one of the oldest working lighthouses in the world, with a tower dating to the 13th century. The coastal drive around the Hook passes ruined abbeys, quiet beaches, and Tintern Abbey.
How far is Wexford from Dublin?
About 1 hour 40 minutes on the N11 / M11. The road is good quality and mostly dual carriageway. Wexford is also about 50 minutes from Kilkenny.
