Kerry Airport

Kerry Airport sits between Killarney and Tralee, right at the start of the Ring of Kerry. It is a small, single-runway airport, and you will be through the terminal and in your car in minutes. No shuttle, no compound, no fuss.

Killarney National Park is twenty minutes south. The Dingle Peninsula is thirty minutes west. The Skellig Ring, the detour that tour coaches cannot take, starts within the hour. This is the part of Ireland that appears on every postcard, and you are already in it.

Kerry Airport is the only pickup point where you step out of the terminal and the scenery has already started.

Questions cousins ask about Kerry Airport

contact us if yours isn't here
How far is Kerry Airport from the Ring of Kerry?
Killarney, the traditional starting point of the Ring of Kerry, is about 20 minutes south of the airport on the N22. You can be driving the Ring on your first afternoon.
Should I drive the Ring of Kerry clockwise or anticlockwise?
Most tour coaches drive anticlockwise (Killorglin first). If you go clockwise from Killarney through Kenmare, you avoid the coach traffic and get the best sea views on your side of the road.
Is Kerry Airport big enough for international flights?
Kerry Airport has direct flights to London, Frankfurt-Hahn, and seasonal sun destinations. It is small and manageable. There is one terminal, one baggage carousel, and car hire is just outside the door.
Can I do both the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula from Kerry Airport?
Yes. They are the two signature drives in County Kerry. The Ring of Kerry is a full day (about 180 km). The Dingle Peninsula and Slea Head Drive are a separate day. Kerry Airport is perfectly positioned between both.
What are the roads like around Kerry?
The main N70 Ring of Kerry road is well maintained but narrow in places, especially around Moll's Gap and the Coomakista Pass. A Compact or Standard car handles it comfortably. Larger vehicles fit but need more care on tight bends.
